LDS Passive Leak Detection

DCE certified to meet or exceed all US DOT CFR49 and Transport Canada CSA B620 regulations. These systems continually monitor the off-loading process, looking for a rapid change in discharge pressure. These systems will detect when product in tank is nearly empty by prompting operator with an audible alert, which can be bypassed temporarily, to continue delivery of product.

Auxiliary control panel available for LDS100 and LDS200 systems to allow driver’s side unloading control. Multiple configuration options are available for Canadian applications requiring “off-truck remote shutdown” functionality.

Features

LDS60

This system has been designed and tested by Design Certified Engineers to meet the compliance requirements of US 49CFR and Canadian CSA B620 regulations. The low-powered control unit continually monitors piping and hose assemblies during the off-loading process. A failed pipe or hose separation will cause the tank’s internal valve to close instantly and sound an audible back-up alarm. A simple “reset” button returns the unit to the monitoring state.

LDS60-RF

Configured specifically to comply with Canadian CSA B620, this system combines the functionality of the LDS 60 with the remote shutdown capabilities of BASE Engineering’s trusted ASK series of remote controls. Please contact us for more details.

LDS100

The low -powered unit continually monitors the off-loading process for “rate of change” parameters, signifying broken or damaged hoses, fittings, and piping. A leak is instantly detected and stopped by the closure of the tank’s internal valve(s). The truck’s engine can also be stopped and PTO disengaged, if desired. The system can also sense low product volume in the tank and will begin an override-enabled shutdown sequence, ultimately preventing damage to the cargo pump due to product run out. This unit is “fail-safe” and can close the internal valve with a loss of power or the release of the trailer parking brake.

LDS200-AQRF

Designed to comply with DOT requirements for transports with both ‘metered’ and ‘bulk discharge’ capability. The LDS200 combines all of the features of the LDS100 with the inclusion of a handheld with remote control ‘QUERY’ and ‘Emergency Stop’ buttons. An audible alarm sounds every 4.5 minutes, giving the operator 30 seconds to respond by pushing the ‘QUERY’ button. Failure to push the button automatically activates the remote shutdown system. Pushing the ‘QUERY’ button refills the timer to allow 5 more minutes of off-loading. Additionally, the remote ‘E-Stop’ button allows the operator to activate the remote shutdown at any time during the off-loading process.
